Winnie Awino’s practice covers corporate and commercial law (including M&A), projects and infrastructure and banking and financial law.
She acts for corporate and infrastructure entities on legal, regulatory and transactional matters, and also advises local and financial institutions on a variety of lending mandates.
In highlight matters, Winnie acted for the acquirer for the horizontal merger of two commercial banks, for a global renewable energy company on the establishment of the first ever solar power plant in Uganda, including acting as borrower’s counsel for project financing from FMO, and for the Trade and Development Bank for a landmark US$ 20 million murabaha financing (Islamic finance) facility to a leading downstream petroleum company.
