Paul Mbuga is trained as commercial and infrastructure lawyer, and his core practice areas include corporate and commercial law, M&A, projects and infrastructure and capital markets.
Paul advises corporate, financial and infrastructure entities on a wide range of legal, regulatory and transactional matters, working with in-house counsel, within the business operation and as local counsel. In corporate mandates, Paul has advised the purchaser on the largest ever equity acquisition and block trade on the Uganda Securities Exchange, and the issuers on the listing of a notes programme and rights issue on the Uganda Securities Exchange.
Paul’s work in projects has seen him advise a global renewable energy company on the set-up of a 10MW solar power plant Uganda, and the lenders of the Bujagali II hydro-power project on various regulatory, corporate and financing matters.
He is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.
