We are a full-service law practice with expertise in banking and finance, projects and infrastructure, power (energy, oil and gas and mining), corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, telecommunications, employment  and employee benefits, tax, real estate and conveyancing, non-profit organisations and commercial dispute resolution.

We are the Uganda member law firm of the DLA Piper Africa Group, an alliance of leading independent practices affiliated to DLA Piper LLP and working together across Africa.

Our history

Sebalu & Lule was formed in 1980 by Paulo Sebalu and Godfrey Lule, both distinguished legal practitioners at the time.

Mr Sebalu was admitted as a Barrister-at-Law of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn and served as the Principal Legal Counsel to the East African Community between 1970 and 1977.  Mr Lule, one of Uganda’s most acclaimed litigation lawyers, read law and was admitted to the bar in India and went ahead to serve as the Attorney General of the Republic of Uganda between 1973 and 1977.

Uniquely positioned as a pioneering commercial legal practice, we have had a varied and prestigious client base from the very beginning and continue to maintain our position as one of the leading firms in Uganda.
