Sebalu & Lule is pleased to announce the secondment of one of our Associates, Brenda Ntambirweki, to DLA Piper London for three months starting October 2011. DLA Piper is the world’s largest law practice by revenue and numbers.
Brenda is one of two Ugandans who emerged successful in a competitive interview process to represent Uganda in the International Lawyers For Africa (ILFA) Program, a program initiated by the Law Society of England and Wales. Brenda’s principal area of secondment during her practice will be in finance and projects and we believe her experience will further enrich Sebalu & Lule’s expertise in this area.
Brenda has extensive knowledge of banking and corporate finance with experience in debt and equity finance and project finance. She also has advanced training in corporate insolvency, anti-trust law and is the point-person in Sebalu & Lule’s s emerging competition law practice.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre (LDC) and a Bachelor of Civil Law degree from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. Brenda has previously served secondments with Standard Chartered Bank Uganda, Stanbic Bank Uganda and the East African Development Bank. She is a member of the Uganda Law Society, the East African Law Society and the Oxford and Cambridge Society of Uganda.
Sebalu & Lule is grateful to David Church, DLA Piper’s International Development Partner, for the role he played in ensuring that this opportunity for Brenda and Juris East Africa came to fruition. We are confident that Brenda’s secondment will herald a new and exciting era for opportunities for training of other Associates in Juris East Africa in their fields of interest.
