Moses Segawa

Moses Segawa was admitted to the partnership in May 2011. He heads the firm’s practice in employment, employee benefits and social enterprises (non-profit organisations).

Moses advises several national and international clients on matters of employment and employee benefits. As a full-time employment and employee benefits practictioner, he has been at the forefront of guiding the firm's corporate clients on their obligations under the 2006 labour laws which marked the end of the employment-at-will dispensation in Uganda.  Presently, Moses is heavily involved in guiding several retirement benefits schemes and their sponsoring employers on their response to Government efforts to liberalise the pension sector through the enactment of The Uganda Retirement Benefits Authority Act 2011 and prospective enactment of The Retirement Benefits Sector Liberalisation Bill 2011.

Moses holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from Makerere University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre (LDC). He is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society. Between June and July 2010, Moses was attached to Hunter Employee Benefits Law, South Africa's premier employment and employee benefits practice and Employee Benefits Law Firm of the Year for the years 2009 and 2010.
