Sebalu & Lule has a fully-fledged conveyancing department. The firm executes a tremendous amount of land transactional work. We specialize in all kinds of land transactions which commonly include purchases, sales, leases and leasebacks and transfers. We advise local and foreign institutional investors, developers and bankers real estate matters and conduct extensive due diligence briefs in real estate matters to identify and eliminate risk.

Some of the major conveyancing projects that we have advised on include:

  • The US$ 1 billion transfer of the Kiira and Nalubaale hydro-electric power dams (formerly Owen Falls dam) from Uganda Electricity Board to one of its successor companies.

  • The purchase and conveyance of the new premises of a diplomatic mission in Uganda (and the renewal of their leases to a full term of 99 years) in the total value of US$ 1.5 million.

  • The regularization and acquisition of six titles valued at US$ 3 million in respect of the real estate portfolio for a leading international religious organisation.

  • Conducted land acquisitions and lease arrangements for two of the country’s leading petroleum supply and distribution companies to the tune of UGX 1 billion.

  • The acquisition for the developer of 50 hectares of land valued at US$ 2 million for the construction of an ultra-modern hotel resort.

  • The conveyancing of a US$ 4 million dollar building in the heart of Kampala to a local real estate developer.

  • The review and regularization of the real estate portfolio (approximately 300 certificates of title) of a leading petroleum supply and distribution.

  • The acquisition of property valued at US$ 600,000 for the development of a global insurer’s Uganda office.

  • The acquisition of 60 hectares of land valued at US$ 1 million for a real estate developer for the development of an exclusive housing estate.
